Capcom and Valve have just announced a crossover project that will see characters from Left 4 Dead 2 featured exclusively in the upcoming PC version of Resident Evil 6, while some of the enemies from Resident Evil 6 will invade the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2.
Anyone who buys Resident Evil 6 on PC will be able to select Coach, Nick, Ellis or Rochelle in the PC exclusive mode, The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will have a special customized weapon load-out created just for use in Resident Evil 6. The Witch and Mini Tank from Left 4 Dead will also be making an appearance in the PC exclusive game mode.
Resident Evil 6 Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi said: “The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we’re confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content.”
Left 4 Dead 2 will also be updated with some of Resident Evil 6’s enemies including Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman. All three characters will be transferred over to Left 4 Dead 2 by Valve’s in house developers using their own Steam Workshop tools.
Chet Faliszek from Valve said: “We’re huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it.”
Best of all, this brand new content will be free for both games and will be added to your respective game via an automatic update on Steam from April 5.
Capcom also released a whole bunch of screenshots showing the characters from Left 4 Dead 2 in Resident Evil 6, you can take a gander at them all in the gallery below.
