Today, Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks confirmed that The Evil Within will launch on August 26th in North America and August 29th in Europe. This news was revealed courtesy of a vine clip that was sent to us and is now embedded below.
The Evil Within is the latest survival horror game by Resident Evil 4 Director Shinji Mikami. Unlike other games in the survival horror genre, The Evil Within is currently poised to bring true horror and suspense back to the medium thanks a gut wrenching story full of mayhem, and uncertainty around every corner. Contributing Writer Garrett Glass wrote an awesome Evil Within preview last year that is absolutely worth checking out if you’d like to learn more about the game.
After hearing this news, I most certainly can’t wait until August to get my hands on this game. It’s no secret that the survival horror genre has been rapidly declining over the years thanks in part to games like Resident Evil 6 and Dead Space 3. Hopefully The Evil Within can change things and prove that the genre is far from dying anytime soon.
The Evil Within will debut on the PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One.
