The Xbox One has received a £30 price-cut in the UK from £429.99 to £399.99, the announcement comes with a reveal of a new bundle that includes the console and Titanfall for the reduced price.
This now means that Titanfall is essentially a free game that comes with the system, an offer that might be hard to refuse for some gamers who were on the edge about whether to buy the console or not.
Xbox U.K. managing director Harvey Eagle spoke to Eurogamer and said:
“The reason for doing this is about giving gamers in the UK the best value we can with Xbox One. That starts with the announcement we’re making about this new price point of £399 moving forward, and continues with the inclusion of the hottest game of the year in Titanfall.”
Unfortunately this price drop will not be coming to the US, however the Titanfall bundle is also releasing there at a price of $499.99. Some people have expressed disgust at the price drop, but price reductions are normal and they should be expected. I personally got the system three months ago and feel that my enjoyment of the system was well worth the £30 that I would have saved by buying the system now.
To put things into perspective for those US gamers that want a price drop, the UK Xbox One reduced price is now at $666 dollars down from over $715. So don’t complain too much!
Let me know in the comments what you think of this new price, is it panic stations for Microsoft or just clever business?
