Don’t Expect to See The Legend of Zelda in 2016

If you were already disappointed by the fact that the latest The Legend of Zelda won’t be coming out this year, then we have even worse news. It appears that the game may not see the light of day in 2016 either.

Nintendo released a schedule which detailed its financial reports and its upcoming first party and third party releases. Notably missing from the line up of games was The Legend of Zelda, which was supposed to see a release next year after its announced delay back in March.

Unfortunately, we can only speculate on what may have happened or what will happen. It’s possible that Satoru Iwata’s passing played a factor in this. It’s also possible that the game is being delayed so that it can be developed on the upcoming NX console which Nintendo is currently working on. There are many questions but few answers at this time.
