/// Bandai Namco Teases “massive surprises” for Tales’ 20th Anniversary!

20 years of success, innovation, fantasy adventures and epic battles!

Since 1995, the Tales Of series is considered among the most representative JRPG sagas thanks to its breathtaking storylines replete with humanist themes, unique battle system and character design!

Bandai Namco Games have put together a video showcasing the full timeline of this beautiful and long tale-teller.

Thanks to fans and JRPG lovers, the series is celebrating its 20th anniversary with Tales of Zestiria, a tribute in every sense:

• A unique collaboration between the 4 emblematic character designers who shaped the series

• Unique references to past games

• Many upcoming activities

Coming in 2015, Tales of Zestiria will be going back to the roots in terms of setting with its medieval environment, feeling of epic fantasy, and classic storytelling. The story follows Sorey, a young idealistic Human living with Seraphims, legendary beings invisible to other humans that have nonetheless shared the same soil for centuries. In a world torn by war and political skirmishes between the Hyland Kingdom and the Rolance Empire, Sorey will have to accept the burden of the Shepherd and fight human darkness to protect the world from malevolence that poison the world and reunite all races once more.

/// Sayonara Umihara Kawase+ Releasing Worldwide this Spring | PS Vita!

Easy to play, difficult to master, ‘Sayonara UmiharaKawase +’ is a totally unique ‘Rubbering Action’ physics based puzzle platform game with over 20 years of video gaming gaming history.

Developed by the creators of the original game (Kiyoshi Sakai and Toshinobu Kondo) and available for the first time globally on the PlayStation Vita, this cult classic was a Japanese indie smash hit before the rest of the world knew what a cult classic game was!

Completely re-worked for the PlayStation Vita, play as ‘Umihara Kawase’ – a 20 year old backpacking Japanese sushi chef armed with a fishing rod, a rubber fishing line and a fishing hook. Avoid fish-like enemies, conveyer belts, spikes, watery pits, time travel and more. The deeper in to this dream-like game players venture, the more challenging the solutions and the greater the time pressure becomes. Along the way, look out for shortcuts and secret exits and unlock bonus levels.

As a special bonus for fans, the first ever title in this gaming franchise ‘UmiharaKawase’ has been included. This game was originally released way back in 1994 for console.

It is the elasticity of Umihara’s rubber fishing line that has always set this franchise apart from all other rope games, giving unprecedented levels of mobility and discovery. Tightening the line or giving lots of slack can be the difference between success and failure. The bungee like nature of the fishing line allows the player to stretch down to otherwise unreachable areas or be catapulted upwards.
