Dragon Ball: Xenoverse was released in Japan on February 5th, and since then groups of fans online have dedicated their time to unlocking the mysteries of the game.
Below you’ll find all kinds of different videos covering the game, along with information that’ll help you along your journey.
First off, there are shards in the game that you have to collect in order to unlock two secret story arcs in the story mode. You can get these shards by completing all of the following actions:
- 1st Shard: Defeat Quest 3 of the Demigra Saga.
- 2nd Shard: Speak with Recon at “Time Square”.
- 3rd Shard: Perfect Parallel Quest 49 “The Saiyans Rebellion”.
- 4th Shard: In Parallel Quest 14 “The Legendary Super Saiyan”, defeat Goku or Ginyu in Goku’s body during Parallel Quest 18 “Ginyu Corps Return”.
- 5th Shard: Perfect Parallel Quest 2 “Get ready for the Saiyan Invasion!” or Defeat Super Saiyan Goku in Parallel Quest 21 “Let the Cell Games Begin!”
Finding these shards will give you access to the Bardock and Broly mission chains:
Once you’re done with that, you might want to head to VS mode or online to test your might against friends both locally and online, however your adventure can’t end there, as you don’t have all of the characters yet.
To unlock all of the characters and variants, you need to do Parallel Quests. One character in particular, SSJ4 Goku, can only be unlocked by completing all of the quests and getting the achievement for doing so.
It isn’t so bad, as you unlock any character and costume that you come against in this mode while you play, which will give you access to characters like Super Saiyan Bardock, Vegito, Dark Broly, and others!
But it isn’t over yet, because there is a group of three characters that you can’t get your hands on without collecting the mystical Dragon Balls!
There are tons of ways to collect Dragon Balls, but one of the sure fire ways to do it is outlined in the video below:
Basically you have to keep doing Parallel Quest #2, and defeat the Time Patroller standing in front of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber entrance.
Occasionally, defeating him will grant you a Dragon Ball, but you have to go forward and clear the mission after you defeat him.
Do this over and over again and you’ll be ale to summon Shenron. If you get to him, you have to go to the third to last option in order to wish for one of three characters.
With that, you finally have all of the characters, and you can take your adventure where you want to until the DLC for Dragon Ball: Xenoverse drops in March!
