We all know Kanye West as the College Dropout but this week he was honored in his hometown of Chicago with an honorary doctorate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
West has been busy this week, performing impromptu at Game 4 of the Bulls/Cavs Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup. Following that up, he gave an hour long lecture with a Q and A to 400 or so students from SAIC.
As seen in the picture above, West was present to receive his degree and he even waited in the 90 minute ceremony to go on stage and accept. You can read a more detailed version of the events from the Chicago Tribune.
Now that Kanye has his degree, although honorary, I wonder if this will open even more doors for him in the fashion world like he’s been wanting to jump further into. We’ll have to wait and see what’s next for Mr. West.
