Thank you for the feedback, the love, and the support as we continue to put together the definitive Hip Hop show. New day, new content. Knights of the Turntable will continue to record live on Friday evenings, but we’ll precede episodes with a playlist based on the upcoming episode’s main topic. On the Monday (a day late this week) before each show, we’ll have a short and sweet playlist built around whatever the upcoming topic is.
This time around, the theme is Hip Hop, Humanity, & American Politics. Music in general has a huge presence when speaking on ideologies, political temperature, and much more in the US. There are artists that have consistently used music to express their opinions on politics their entire careers and some that periodically drop intense odes to the needed changes. This playlist has us nominating some that have left the greatest impression on us, including cuts from Public Enemy, Ab-Soul, Brother Ali, 2-Pac, and more.. Also, check the videos to see one of the dopest verses of the last few years from Locksmith and an incredibly emotional live performance from J Cole. Be sure to drop your favorite tracks on the topic down in the comments below.
