A Comedy of Errors – An Interview with Future’s Producers Ben Karlin, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir

Written by on

Imagine turning your love for video games and classic comedies into a 13-episode show starring some of Hollywood’s best-known faces. For producers Ben Karlin, Kyle Hunter, and Ariel Shaffir that moment came in the form of Future Man, the new Hulu comedy show that sees Josh Hutcherson transform from a nobody into a more confident nobody on a mission to save the world from the apocalypse and the cure to herpes.

Through their love of pop culture, the trio was able to create a laugh-out-loud show that incorporates improv, the inspiration for Halo and a strong badass female (Eliza Coupe).

The Koalition had an opportunity to speak to producers Ben Karlin, Kyle Hunter, and Ariel Shaffir about what it takes to create a comedy, working with Seth Rogen and how a movie about time travel inspired it all.

Check out the interview below.
