Marvel’s Luke Cage proved to be full of surprises. While the story focused on our beloved hip hop superhero; it introduced one of the most captivating villains to the Marvel Universe. While Alfre Woodard’s Mariah Dillard and Mahershala Ali’s Cottonmouth kept us on our toes, it was the deceptively devious Shades, played by Theo Rossi, who had the biggest impact. While it’s easy to miss the importance of the character at first — by the end of the first season, we were all blindsided by who was truly pulling all the strings.
The Koalition had an opportunity to interview Rossi where he talked about the power of patience, his unexpected importance to the series, and what he looks forward to the most in season two.
