Mortal Kombat 11 Launches Worldwide On April 23rd, 2019

Earlier tonight, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios released an announcement trailer for Mortal Kombat 11. The next installment in the wildly popular fighting game series launches worldwide on April 23rd, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The gloriously brutal reveal trailer is included above while more details on the game are listed below.

Mortal Kombat 11 features a new time-bending storyline and original music by multi-platinum selling rapper 21 Savage. The first gameplay debut event takes place next month on January 17th. Plenty of information will be revealed during this community celebration. Fans can watch the festivities live globally on NetherRealm’s dedicated Twitch channel.

From what little we’ve seen from the trailer, the battle between Scorpion and Dark Raiden is just as hard-hitting and gory as one would expect. According to Director Ed Boon, this sequel also has a new custom character variation system. It will be interesting to see this feature along with details on other fighters who will appear in the game. Here are a few more screenshots to hold you over until next month.
