NBA 2K18 Hits Franchise Sales Record With Over 10 Million Units Sold

Earlier today, 2K Sports announced that NBA 2K18 is now the highest-selling entry in the franchise with over 10 million units sold. Last year’s title featured Boston Celtics Star Kyrie Irving on the Standard Edition and 2016 Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal on the Legend Edition. Having been around since 1999, the NBA 2K franchise has sold in more than 80 million units worldwide and is considered the top-rated and top-selling NBA video game simulation series currently on the market. Included below is an infographic to further highlight this impressive new milestone for the franchise.

This news comes a little over a month before the worldwide release of NBA 2K19 on September 11th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Fans who decide to pre-order the game will get it four days early on September 7th. Considering all the craziness that took place this offseason and Legend Edition Cover Athlete Lebron James decision to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, it will be very interesting to see if the sales from this entry will surpass last year’s. Luckily we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out now.
