This morning, Telltale Games officially announced that The Walking Dead: The Final Season will launch worldwide on August 14th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The team is also hard at work on a Nintendo Switch version that is expected to arrive sometime later this year. The first teaser trailer is embedded above while screenshots and detailed description of the upcoming season are included below.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be centered around the lead female protagonist and series favorite Clementine. Now a fierce and capable survivor, Clementine has reached the final chapter in her journey. After years on the road facing threats both living and dead, a secluded school might finally be her chance for a home. But protecting it will mean sacrifice. Clem must build a life and become a leader while still watching over AJ, an orphaned boy and the closest thing to family she has left. In this gripping, emotional final season, you will define your relationships, fight the undead, and determine how Clementine’s story ends. Fans can expect an emotional, gut-wrenching storyline, a new over-the-shoulder camera system and an enhanced visual art style that supports 4K resolution and high dynamic range on compatible devices.
Starting on June 8th, players will be able to pre-order the game on PC, PS4 and Xbox One for $19.99. Those who pre-order on PS4 and Xbox One will also gain instant access to The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection which includes all 19 previously released episodes. This incredible offer expires on August 14th. If for any reason you missed out on the series, now is definitely the perfect time to check it out.
