Steven S. DeKnight is no stranger to creating masterpieces. Working on some of Hollywood’s biggest television shows like Daredevil and Spartacus, he’s created memorable moments with some of our favorite characters. Now he’s stepping into Guillermo del Toro’s directing chair, as he takes on his biggest project yet; directing and writing the long-awaited Pacific Rim sequel, Pacific Rim Uprising.
Starring and produced by John Boyega, this movie will see Scott Eastwood, the hilarious Charlie Day, Burn Gorman and more, ten years after the Battle of the Breach where a new generation emerges to take on the threat of the Kaiju.
At this year’s New York Comic Con, we had an opportunity to speak to DeKnight about stepping into del Toro’s directing chair, crafting the sequel, developing the Pacific Rim “franchise,” the creativity of creating a blockbuster and more.
