As seen in the trailer above, season 2 take off directly after the first season of The Mandalorian with the Mandalorian and The Child (lovingly coined by fans as “Baby Yoda”) traveling across the galaxy. A voice over ominously explains the “stories of eons past” describing great battles between the Mandalorian and “an order of sorcerers known as Jedi.”
The new season premieres Friday, October 30, streaming only on Disney+.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Directors for the new season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez. Showrunner Jon Favreau serves as executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson, with Karen Gilchrist serving as co-executive producer.
The Mandalorian has cast Rosario Dawson (Zombieland: Double Tap) to star as a live-action version of Rebels and Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s Jedi padawan apprentice who appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. WWE’s Sasha Banks will also star as an unknown character.
