Raquel Asks for A Parlay in Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 10 ‘Trenches’ Exclusive Clip

Whew! Raising Kanan Season 3 has been impeccable this season! With the finale around the corner there are so many questions left to answer. Will Lou Lou survive? Will Kanan and Raquel’s feud escalate into something more dangerous? Will Ronnie pay for what he did to Unique? Will Howard be arrested for his nefarious ways? We don’t know by maybe this exclusive clip offers some insight.

As seen in the embedded clip titled ‘Trenches,’ Marvin Thomas relays the news to Raquel that it was Ronnie who killed Unique and is not too happy Raquel cut off his heroin supply by killing Juliana. However, things are further complicated when it’s discovered Ronnie is now working with Kanan (something Raquel already knows). Despite all signs pointing to war, Raquel requests a parlay from Snaps (Wendell Pierce) and Pops (Erik Campbell). But have things gotten so out of control a parlay deal can be reached?

When we spoke to actress Patina Miller about the fractured relationship between Raquel and Kanan she stated Raquel will stop at nothing to get her son back even with the FBI watching her every move. “She does not give up [on getting Kanan back] and the relationship has been forced into a corner. It is what it is, but she is a mother, and she loves her son deeply. She’s going to always try to fight for her son. Her son is the most important thing to her. He has stepped away but that’s all the more reason to try to get him back in her orbit because she still wants to protect him. She still wants to make sure he’s safe. There’s still danger out there. He’s choosing to do a lot of things on his own and as we’ve seen through the first two seasons, he is not very successful at this business, yet he thinks he knows um that has been his problem. He doesn’t listen and so she wants to be able to keep him safe. The FBI is still out [there]. She’s trying to keep him safe and if she can keep him safe, she can keep everyone safe because if he goes down, they all go down. So, she has a little bit of her own motive for wanting to be in his orbit but at the end of the day, it is still about that’s her son. He sees her for who she is [and] maybe she’s a little relieved the secret is no longer there so now she can try and have the relationship with him.”

Over the last two seasons of Raising Kanan, Kanan Stark has slowly learned the truth about not only his mother, discovering more about himself in the process. It has been a tortuous journey for him and everyone around him. With each new revelation, Kanan has been forced to confront his family’s seemingly never-ending web of secrets and lies. He has spent much of this time in a state of denial, but now, Kanan’s blinders are finally off, and he doesn’t like what he sees. In season three, Kanan finds himself grappling with the very notions of right and wrong. Good and evil. Fidelity and disloyalty. And he’s not alone. Every member of the Thomas family must confront an existential crisis that challenges their very identity. Whether it’s Marvin, who’s still trying to redeem himself, or Raq, who’s finally coming clean, or Lou, who’s wrestling with his own evil, or Jukebox, who’s simply trying to break free from her family’s pathology, they are all attempting to redefine and reinvent themselves. They won’t all be able to complete this intensely personal quest, but for those who do, the destination may reveal the most terrifying secret of all. There is no right and wrong or good and evil. There are no absolutes. In the end, there’s just you.
