5 years have passed since the actions in season 1. Ellie is now 19 and seeking out her own independence, while Joel is not ready to let go and is extremely overprotective. We see the return of familiar faces from season 1, along with some new ones from the Video Game. This was a strong first episode that included some unexpected surprises. #thelastofus
