Tempest Trailer Is a Tale of International Deception and Murder

“This game is much bigger than you could imagine. The storm is coming. We will brave the tempest and head towards our north star.”

Set in Korea, Tempest follows Seo Munju, a former United Nations Ambassador whose life gets flipped on its head when her husband, a presidential candidate, is assassinated in front of her. Munju, a skilled former diplomat, tries to uncover the truth behind the attempt on a presidential candidate’s life. After discovering the candidate was accused of being a North Korean spy, Munju digs into his past, unlocking a Pandora’s box of deception, state secrets, and a multinational conspiracy involving rogue nations, security agencies, and classified intelligence will threaten the stability of the Korean peninsula.

As seen in the trailer above, with her life constantly in danger, Paik Sanho, a mercenary with a suspicious history and a hidden backer, Munju repeatedly finds herself under attack as she uncovers an international conspiracy stretching all the way to the White House. But, with danger drawing ever closer, will Sanho be able to keep his principal safe and his emotions in check? However, with little known about him, can Munju really trust him?

Featuring one of the most impressive international line-ups in a Korean drama to date, the new spy thriller includes an international cast, including Gianna Jun, Gang Dongwon, John Cho, Lee Misook, Park Haejoon, Christopher Gorham, Michael Gaston, Spencer Garrett and more.

Tempest is launching with three episodes on September 10th on Disney+ and Hulu.

Tempest” is directed by Kim Heewon (“Queen of Tears,” “Vincenzo”), co-directed by Korea’s leading martial arts director Heo Myeonghaeng (“THE ROUNDUP: PUNISHMENT,” “Badland Hunters”), and is written by Chung Seokyung (“Decision to Leave,” “Little Women”). The series is produced by Imaginus in association with Showrunners, AA, and Skydance.
