After releasing his long awaited mixtape “Money, Bitches, Power“, Kurupt takes the spotlight for this week’s Throwback Thursday.
We are going to take a look back to some of his solo material from his various albums and a feature from Kurupt on Daz Dillinger‘s solo material.
1998’s “Ask Yourself A Question” starts off the proceedings. Featuring production and a guest appearance from Dr. Dre, “Ask Yourself A Question” was the last track on the “West Coast” CD of the album “Kuruption!“.
Jump forward, a year later we have Kurupt’s sophomore album “Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha“. Track 2 of this week’s Throwback is “I Ain’t Shit Without My Homeboyz” which features on the 1999 album. The song also features Baby S, Crooked I and fellow Dogg Pound member Daz Dillinger who shared production responsibilities with Soopafly.
“The Hardest Mutha Fukas” is track number 3, from the third Kurupt solo album “Space Boogie: Smoke Oddessey” which was released in 2001. “The Hardest Mutha Fukas” features Xzibit, MC Ren and the late Nate Dogg. This track was produced by Fredwreck.
Track 4 is from Daz’s solo work (“R.A.W“, released in 2000, to be more particular) with the track title taking the album’s name-sake. Daz produced this track (as well as the whole album).
Back to the solo-debut album “Kuruption!“, “C-Walk” finishes off the playlist. This particular track features appearances from Tray-Dee and Slip Capone. Fellow Dogg Pound member Daz, once again, took credit for the production.
