Tomorrow sees the release of not one but two games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. This launch trailer is for the last-gen only Assassin’s Creed: Rogue. The video shows us a bit about the player character Shay and of course, a lot of intense action.
Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is set between 1752 and 1761 during the Seven Years War. You play as a former Assassin who decides to defect to the Templar Order. With the vast resources of the Templars at his disposal, Shay goes about trying to muck things up for his former Assassin brothers.
The game features the return of naval combat but with new additions. The Morrigan will be able to create an oil slick which can be set ablaze to burn anyone behind it and puckle guns which are like autocannons. You ship will be able to travel on rivers and also ram icebergs with an icebreaker while in the North Atlantic. Though you’ll still be able to board enemy ships, this time the enemies can board your ship as well.
Seeing as how your main enemies will be Assassins, you’ll have to be extra careful. All of the previous tricks you learned in the other games such as hiding in bushes, air attacks, and blending into crowds can be used against you. This will make it one of the hardest games in the franchise so far.
Assassin’s Creed: Rogue will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 tomorrow. A PC version will be released sometime in 2015.
