Notorious video game journalist Jim Sterling gave The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild a 7/10. This actually caused its MetaCritic score to drop by one point. It (sadly) shouldn’t be surprising that Nintendo fanboys were enraged by this. Unfortunately, it got so bad that Sterling’s site was hit with a DDoS attacked. His life was even threatened by these insane people.
On this Tony’s Take, I break down this whole situation and explain the mentality driving individuals to act this way when a game they like/are hyped for get negative press.
