Ninja Theory showed the world how to do motion capture for a video game right with last-gen’s Heavenly Sword. The studio did something revolutionary for the medium by capturing both the facial and body movements of actors in their games. They are continuing this tradition with the upcoming Hellblade but in a different manner.
Since the studio doesn’t have the same budget they once did, they had to figure out new ways to capture performances while still maintaining the same level of quality as before. This video describes how this was attained.
Hellblade will be released for the PC and PlayStation 4 this year.
