The next game in the Yakuza series will take us back to the glory days of the 1980s. Yakuza 0 tells the tale of how protagonist Kazuma Kiryu started out his criminal career and how he got to meet some of the other characters that we know from the series. This latest trailer shows us a bit more of the story that we saw from the debut trailer.
It’s hard to tell what’s happening since this trailer is in Japanese but we see all manner of Yakuza who are vying for control over their respective territories. We get to see a lot of action, some more over the top than others. This series is known for its over the top and brutal combat so it seems as if Yakuza 0 won’t deviate from that. We also get to see what life was like in Japan during the 1980’s. Granted, this is the criminal underworld but it’s still interesting to see how the Japanese lived through that decadent decade.
Yakuza 0 will be released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan next Spring. We’ll keep you guys updated on a possible Western release date when that’s announced.
