The Co-op Podcast 62: 720p Vs 1080p – Can You Really Tell The Difference?

Welcome back to episode 62 of The Co-op Podcast. With next-gen upon us we really had to get our hands dirty and address some of the latest controversy surrounding the new consoles. We went around the panel and asked everyone the same question, “What are your thoughts on Call of Duty: Ghosts being 720p on Xbox One and 1080p on PS4?” Shouts outs to @BlastShotz7 on Twitter who asked us the question. Some of us felt like you couldn’t really tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, and that as a gamer you should just be interested in playing the game. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

It’s not just the Xbox One suffering from doubts though, last week a Playstation 4 FAQ revealed that the system wouldn’t be able to play MP3’s or audio CD’s. On top of that the system won’t support DLNA. How much of an issue is this? We share our thoughts on the show.

Next-gen is a week away, with the PS4 launching in North America on the 15th November. By the time we do another Co-op many of us will already have next-gen systems. So we thought it was appropriate to share our next-gen plans. Which consoles are we buying? How are we getting them? Find out on the show. Be sure to share your own next-gen plans with us.

We also briefly touched on Valves Steam Machine prototype and shared our honest thoughts on the system.

[alert type=”green”]This week’s Co-op is sponsored by Tethy’s Interactive, the company behind voxel-based fantasy RPG Astral Terra. Go to their website to find out more, and be sure to back their Kickstarter for the game.[/alert]

The music featured this week is from Mega Ran a.k.a Random. The song is called Love Is and you can buy it from his Bandcamp page.

Be sure to hit up our Twitter for more topic suggestions and we’ll be sure to shout you out on the show.
