Tony Hawk Bails At Retail

In case you didn’t know (and let’s face it, you probably didn’t) a new Tony Hawk game came out last month. Ignored by every gaming publication, Tony Hawk: Shred doesn’t even have a Metacritic score or filled out Wikipedia page. Given these factors it’s no surprise that Shred bombed at retail but it bombed so badly that not even Tony “900°” Hawk could add a positive spin to it.

The successor to Tony Hawk: Ride only sold 3,000 units in the US during its first week on store shelves. Yes, you read right… 3,000! I’m not one to laugh at other peoples failures but it’s hard for me to feel sorry for Activision at this point. Hopefully they’ll finally realize what Hawk fans want and release Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 on XBL/PSN. Until then I’ll continue to ignore this franchise along with everybody else.

Deja Vu anybody?
