St. Denis Medical is one of the funniest shows on NBC that explores that medical field with a dynamic cast of characters that follows an underfunded, understaffed hospital where the doctors and nurses try their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity.
After a well-deserved vacation, the series is back tonight with Episode 115 ‘Sometimes It’s Good to Be Curious.’ In this episode, Bruce and Alex give conflicting medical advice to a young athlete. Joyce competes with Tiger Woods in her alumni magazine. Matt and Serena (almost) drop an unconscious patient.
As seen in the exclusive clip above, Alex comes to Dr. Bruce concerned their patient doesn’t fully understand the risks involved with their surgery. Always wanting to provide the best service, Alex doesn’t think Dr. Bruce should be confident in their answers However, Dr. Bruce doesn’t see his confidence as a problem. ‘When a patient is going under, I’m pretty sure they’re not thinking, ‘Gosh, I hope my surgeon is humble.’ He even goes writes her a prescription to ‘stay in your lane. Refills Unlimited.’

The Koalition previously spoke to Lawson about Dr. Bruce’s interaction with his co-workers and possible God Complex. “Bruce is a little different, he’s so deluded, he is blissfully unaware people are frustrated working with him; he coasts through St. Dennis going, ‘Oh yeah, easy breezy. Everyone loves me, why wouldn’t they.’ He’s got quite a positive attitude going through a workday, even though a lot of it is based on a delusion.”
“It’s not uncommon for surgeons to have God complexes because, in some ways, they’re the line between life and death. I can’t imagine what kind of responsibility that would actually feel. I just pretend to on camera, but it’s far too much responsibility for me. I get anxious when I can’t find a movie to watch on Netflix, so I definitely wouldn’t be able to handle the pressure of somebody else’s life in my hands. It’s completely understandable that’s where his ego comes from. His problem is he needs to keep it in check a little bit; otherwise, it’ll get out of control.”
