Yoichi Wada Embraces Western Franchise Heavy Rain

Square Enix president Yoichi Wada has told the world of his obsession with Quantic Dream’s interactive thriller, Heavy Rain. He is a huge fan of the game, and apparently would like to see more games designed like it. Not only is it great to see that the president of another company appreciates a franchise outside of it’s own development studio, but it is great to know that Yoichi Wada and other Japanese publishers are embracing Western franchises. It is known that many Western franchises are overlooked in Japan, and to an extent vice versa. So for Heavy Rain to get such a huge co-sign from an important figure in Japanese gaming shows good promise for future Western and Eastern developmental relationships in gaming.
