Angry Birds creators Rovio definitely can’t be angry after learning how much their bird launching franchise has sold digitally. Rovio themselves confirmed on a panel at the SXSW conference in Austin that the game has been downloaded over 100 million times across multiple platforms.
He went on to say that the game has 40 million monthly active users, who spend 200 million minutes a day playing the game across various devices, which is pretty damned insane. It’s kind of ironic to think that a game this simple beats your favorite PS3, Wii or Xbox 360 game to hell.
Besides being on mobile devices and tablets, a version of Angry Birds also exists on the Playstation 3 and is expected to hit other consoles later this year.
