The uprising of fighting games this generation continues. Tecmo Koei have dropped the curtain on Team Ninja’s ‘Dead or Alive 5’. The fifth installment in the series was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show, and is set to be released sometime next year on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles.
Tecmo and Team Ninja did not come empty handed, they also showed off some a gameplay trailer featuring Ninja Gaiden star Ryu Hayabusa fighting his rival Hayate. Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi made it clear that the game is still in its pre-alpha stage. He also went on to describe the game as “fighting entertainment”. Whatever that means.
I’ve never been the biggest fan of this series, manly because I suck at it. But there’s never been a more appropriate time to release the next installment. Check out the pre-alpha trailer below, and let me know what you think of it or the series as a whole.
