Remember when Activision announced that it was killing off True Crime: Hong Kong? Well Square Enix has stepped in to save it from the chopping block. Square Enix London’s Lee Singleton made the announcement via: Gamasutra. There is one catch here though. Square Enix did not purchase the actual I.P, meaning they have the rights to the True Crime: Hong Kong build itself, but they will unfortunately have to rename it.
“It’s too early to say what the name will be,” said Singleton, adding that removing the True Crime name would be “pretty straightforward.”
United Front Games are still working on the title, as it was when Activision was publishing the game before its cancellation. There is no word yet on when we can expect the game, whatever its new name may be. At least we know we’ll get to give it a go.
