Battlefield 4‘s first piece of DLC, China Rising, released today. It is the first of five DLC packs and is currently only available to Battlefield Premium members.
China Rising contains four new maps: Silk Road, Altai Range, Guilin Peaks, and Dragon Pass. The DLC also includes new vehicles and a new game mode. It is ‘free’ if you are a Premium member, otherwise you will have to wait two whole weeks to get your hands on it!
Unfortunately even though EA are releasing DLC, the game is still largely broken on most platforms. The PS4 has been having some very troublesome issues with the game that were meant to be fixed in a patch on December 3, however DICE today revealed that the patch for the game has been delayed.
DICE posted the bad news about the patch, saying:
“The PS4 game update that was originally meant to go live Dec 3 is undergoing some additional testing and will be rescheduled for a later date. We will get back with final details as soon as we have verification that the update is good to go”
It seems odd releasing DLC for a game that is broken, they should focus on fixing the game first before trying to make more money off of expansion packs. Bug fixing should have been a priority! Hopefully a new date for the patch is announced soon, I’m sure lots of people are trying to play Battlefield 4 on their shiny new consoles.
Let me know in the comment if you’ll be buying China Rising and whether you think they should be releasing DLC when the game is still broken.
