If you are jealous of all of those Battlefield 3 premium members that get earlier access to the Battlefield 4 beta on October 1st, you need not worry. Just three days later on October 4th the beta becomes open to everyone on the PC, PS3 and 360.
The early access to the beta is only available to people who have pre-ordered of the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe edition or people who the Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition. So if you really want to get in to this beta early then I suggest picking up Medal of Honor or pre-ordering Battlefield 4. Apparently the beta will include only the one map, Siege of Shanghai, which can be played in both Conquest and Domination mode.
According to EA, the beta gives players the chance to learn maps, unlock items, and build stats as the progress in-game carries over to the final release. Additionally players can also transfer their stats from the current gen Battlefield 4 to the next gen version.
While I have not always been the biggest Battlefield fan, I am definitely interested in at least trying out the multiplayer. I was a big fan of Battlefield 2 so hopefully Battlefield 4 can rekindle some of that spark. From the footage I have seen so far it looks amazing. Hopefully that transfers into actually playing the game.
Battlefield 4 releases on October 29th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The PS4 version comes out on November 12th, with the Xbox One version on November 19th.
