The Best Games of 2013: December Releases

After being bombarded by several top notch video game releases and the successful debut of both the PS4 and Xbox One consoles last month, gamers everywhere will be happy to know that December will give their wallets a much needed break. Gran Turismo 6 and The Walking Dead: Season Two rounds out a short list of 7 games that you may want to keep an eye out for . So without further ado, here are the Best Games of 2013 for the month of December.

Banking off the success of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Pirates aims to bring the dynamic naval battle experience to mobile platforms. Players will take on the role of Captain Alonzo Batilla as he commands his ship and crew on a wild adventure filled with both pirates and assassins. If you enjoyed all that Black Flag had to offer, then checking out this game on December 5th might not be such a bad idea.

Sony’s popular Gran Turismo series receives a brand new installment with this highly anticipated release. Gran Turismo 6 marks the 15th anniversary of the series and promises hardcore racing fans plenty of new modes and features to sink their teeth into. If you’re looking for the perfect PS3 racing simulator, then look no further than Gran Turismo 6.

Angry Birds GO! could be best described as a kart racing free-to-play video game in which players are able to race throughout various portions of a 3D Piggy island. Longtime fans of the franchise will be able to select any of their favorite characters and upgrade their karts accordingly. If you’re an Angry Bird fan who is also fond of Mario Kart, then picking this game up is an absolute no-brainer.

After making a splash on the Nintendo DS way back in May of 2010, an HD version of Dementium II is finally coming to the PC. This first-person survival horror shooter was well received in the past and aims to strike a cord with a new audience of fans on the PC. If you’re looking for an engaging survival horror title to play, then you should definitely check out Dementium II HD.

On October 26, 2004, Rockstar Games released another memorable entry in the Grand Theft Auto series with GTA: San Andreas. After selling 29 million units of GTA V earlier this year, the studio now aims to have repeat success by releasing a mobile version of San Andreas. If for some reason you never got a chance to play the original, then now is a perfect time to do so.

The Walking Dead: Season Two is officially expected to debut sometime in December. After the success of season one, several hardcore fans are very anxious and eager to see how the studio will raise the bar. Back in October, I wrote an article on 5 Returning Characters that I would like to see in Season Two. While nothing is guaranteed at the moment, we at least know that we won’t need to wait too much longer to see how everything pans out for our beloved Clementine.

PopCap’s popular puzzle video game will finally be coming to the Xbox One as a timed exclusive. EA has assured fans that they have been working hard with Popcap to create a fun and engaging sequel that will challenge even the most skilled of players. If you’re a fan of Tetris, then you may very well become a fan of Peggle 2 as well.
