Consoles Too Limited For Oculus Rift Support

The Oculus Rift virtual reality set will most likely not be coming to the new PS4 and Xbox One consoles, according to inventor Palmer Luckey.

Speaking last week with TechRadar, Luckey said:

“Consoles are too limited for what we want to do. We’re trying to make the best virtual reality device in the world and we want to continue to innovate and upgrade every year – continue making progress internally – and whenever we make big jumps we want to push that to the public.”

I think it is a great shame the Rift is not coming to the new consoles, I think it would be great for the Oculus Rift as currently it is being limited by the PC audience. If they adapted it for consoles then more people would use it and it would be adopted faster by the general public. I do not believe for a second that the consoles are too limited for the Oculus Rift, that seems like a bad excuse. Hopefully Sony’s and Microsoft’s version of the virtual reality headset will bring a comparable experience to consoles.

Let me know in the comments what you think about Luckey’s comments, do you think that the Oculus Rift should come to consoles? Do you believe what he says?
