Today the Official Playstation Blog has revealed Tiny Brains, a co-operative puzzle game set to be released on the Playstation 4. Although not much is known about the game as of yet, it will be the first game developed by Spearhead Games, a studio spearheaded by former Assassins Creed III and Dead Space 3 developers.
Tiny Brains is said to be “An Experiment in Teamwork” starring four rather grotesque-looking rodents! “Tiny Brains is set in a lab where four super-powered animals have to work together to solve puzzles and escape from a mad scientist’s experiment” explained Simon Darveau, Co-founder of Spearhead Games. “We chose this theme because now that we are indie devs and have more flexibility, experimentation is what we’re all about in our creative process”
I’m personally not a fan of co-op puzzlers (or co-op games in general) but Spearhead certainly has an interesting pedigree which at the very least has me intrigued. The fact that Tiny Brains is being released on the PS4 rather than the PS3 or Vita suggests that Spearhead Games has some clever tricks up their sleeves which requires the additional housepower brought the table by Sony’s upcoming console.
Hopefully Spearhead will release a gameplay trailer in time for E3.
