Yesterday afternoon, Activision revealed a brand new trailer showcasing squads for their upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts video game.
The video above introduces squads as a new multiplayer feature that will effectively raise the competitive bar by allowing players to team up with their customized squad-mates over various types of game modes. All XP earned within squads is also directly connected to multiplayer progress. For those who are seeking a greater challenge, they can easily opt to take on a squad all by themselves. Lastly, each squad can be built up in several types of ways including a team of up to 6 human players squaring off against a team of 1 human player with 5 AI controlled squad-mates.
While I personally am more excited for Battlefield 4, I do believe Activision’s take on this squad feature is a brilliant idea in more ways then one. Call of Duty games have always been known for their addictive multiplayer modes and a feature of this multitude will continue that trend right on into the next generation. The various types of modes detailed in this video also show the games versatility in regards to multiplayer, which will keep the content fresh and appealing for quite awhile.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is scheduled to release on November 5th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U. The PlayStation 4 version of the game will hit stores on November 15th while the Xbox One version will deploy on November 22nd. Did this trailer convince you that squads is a definitive reason to purchase the game? Please feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
