React Podcast Episode 4: The Playstation 4 Report

Written by on

Last night immediately following the Sony Meeting in which the Playstation 4 was announced we gathered the troops to give our official verdict on the proceedings. Our Director Anthony Frasier was actually there at the event live, and he managed to join in on this report during the second hour to give us his first hand take on everything that happened.

We were also joined by guest game enthusiasts Michael A. (Hated Greatness) and Kieran Blackman (Ruthless Kid).

Join us as we break down everything that happened at the event, and give our personal responses. Is Playstation 4 the ultimate platform for gamers? Have they fixed every issue that plagued the PS3? Are the games they showed including Killzone: Shadow Fall and Infamous: Second Son true next generation experiences? How revolutionary will the Playstation Cloud (powered y Gaikai) features be?

Playstation 4 coming Holiday 2013

We address every question that Sony left us with such as, the true Playstation 4 specs, the actual look of the console itself, the price and how they plan to set themselves apart from the competition. What about backwards compatibility? Will we be putting 100% faith in the cloud to play our old games?

Sony clearly sent the gaming media into a frenzy last night, and from here on it’s going to be a bumpy ride until we get all the information we truly need. Be sure to have your say on the Playstation 4 by leaving your comments, and if you would like to be a guest on a future show then feel free to submit a request at

It will certainly be interesting to see how the competition (Nintendo and Microsoft) respond to what Sony has shown us. Clearly Microsoft have the most experience when it comes to networking and connectivity, so they can perhaps combat what Sony have shown us with the streaming features. However buying Gaikai was clearly a great chess move for Sony, so will they give Sony the edge?
