The campaign for The Last Of Us will last from 12 to 16 hours depending on your play style, Naughty Dog has announced in an interview with EvolveEnt.
The interview, embedded above, is with Naughty Dog Community Manager Arne Meyer and answers numerous questions about the game, he had this to say about the campaign length:
“We’re definitely looking at more than 12 hours; maybe 12 to 16 right now is what we’re looking at, it really depends on how you play. You can play a little bit slower if you try to approach situations stealthy. If you really wanna explore the environment and scavenge, that’s going to add more time, too.”
Meyer also explained that Naughty Dog do not have any plans for single-player DLC, only multiplayer add-ons for the game, this is fitting with previous Naughty Dog games considering that Uncharted has never received addition single-player DLC whereas the multiplayer was thoroughly supported.
When I developer tells you the length of the game, it is normally accurate to subtract 5 hours and that will give you a good idea of the actual game length. However in this case I hope it is true, The Last Of Us looks very promising and I really hope it delivers on what I’ve heard and seen so far.
The Last Of Us releases June 14 exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
