With only a week left until its June 27th launch and amidst pressure from the PlayStation’s 4 $399 price-point, Nvidia has announced an updated and lower price point for their Shield gaming handheld of $249. At this price, it cuts in lower than the upcoming next-generation consoles, but allows players to access many of the best PC gaming experiences in the palm of their hand.
Consumer reactions to the original price were surely considered as reasons for the price change, so does this seem like something more affordable now, or would you rather just invest that money in a gaming PC or add a bit more for a new console? Shield looks interesting, but I’m still not convinced until I see it in action more and actually get some hands-on time with the device personally.
