Earlier this week, Sony released the long awaited Firmware update 2.0 (“Masamune”) which featured a slew of additions, most notably, Share Play. The release of this update hasn’t been without problems however as many PlayStation 4 users (myself included) have been experiencing issues post-update. It seems that these problems have affected the alpha release of Bethesda’s Evolve on the PS4 which is now postponed on the system.
According to the official Evolve site, the alpha has been delayed due to issues with the firmware update. “We have some unfortunate news to share with folks planning to participate in the Big Alpha test on PlayStation 4 starting today,” says the post. “Following the recent PS4 2.00 firmware update, we are experiencing difficulties with the Evolve Big Alpha on PlayStation 4. As a result, the test on PlayStation 4 is postponed. PlayStation and 2K are working together on a resolution.”
While this is obviously disappointing news for PlayStation 4 owners, those with an Xbox One or a PC capable of running Evolve are unaffected and can still play the game.
