Yesterday, Moon Studios confirmed in a blog post that Ori and the Blind Forest has been delayed until early 2015. This beautifully designed platformer was originally expected to launch on both the PC and Xbox One sometime next month. A Moon Studios representative released the following statement to serve as an explanation for the delay:
While we’re extremely excited for all of you to get your hands on Ori and the Blind Forest as soon as possible, we made the decision together with our partners at Microsoft Studios that we’ll need just a little more time in order to add a final layer of polish to – what we hope – will be an unforgettable gaming experience.
Next to Sunset Overdrive, this was easily one of the best looking games at Microsoft’s booth during E3 2014. The decision to delay this title was tough but will definitely benefit both sides in the long run.
