Yesterday afternoon, Microsoft and Insomniac Games revealed that Sunset Overdrive will be free for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers starting today. The 24 hour trial period started approximately at 12:01 EST/ 9:01 PST and ends early on Sunday morning.
Players who are planning to download the game should have 23.17 GB of space set aside on their hard drives. All achievements earned and game saves will also be transferred over for those who decide to purchase the game at a later date. Lastly, the 8-player Chaos Squad mode will also be available for those who want to experience all the mayhem of Sunset City with friends.
This bold move by Microsoft comes on the one year anniversary of the Xbox One. Having had a chance to review Sunset Overdrive last month, I personally enjoyed all that this game had to offer and I’m glad that everyone will finally get a chance to experience it. Truthfully, Microsoft needs more exclusives like these and hopefully we will see more creative titles from them as this generation moves forward.
Have any of you had a chance to play Sunset Overdrive yet? If so, please feel free to let us know all of your thoughts on the game in the comments section below.
