The Best Games of 2014: June Releases

E3 2014 is less than 10 days away and therefore we only figured it would right to talk about a few games that are coming to stores next month. Murdered: Soul Suspect and EA Sports UFC are at the top of a list that is noticeably slimmer than the months before it. With that said, below are 8 games that are definitely worth checking out as the weeks go by.

Full Title: Murdered: Soul Suspect
Developers: Airtight Games and Square Enix Japan

Release Date: June 3rd (North America) June 6th (Europe)

Murdered: Soul Suspect follows the trials and tribulations of a detective who must solve the case behind his own murder. This intriguing action-adventure title takes place in Salem, Massachusetts and introduces puzzle solving and supernatural elements to tell a tale of mystery and deception. If this new approach interests you, then you should definitely check out the game when it hits stores early next week.

Lifeless Planet is an explorative independent adventure game successfully funded on Kickstarter and created by Stage 2 Studios. The story revolves around a scientist who takes a trip to another planet and uncovers all of the mysteries that surround him. Indie game fans who are anxious to try something new might be inclined to see what this game has to offer.

Enemy Front is an upcoming open world first-person shooter that was originally announced way back in 2011. The game could be best described as a modern World War 2 shooter filled with various play styles and multiplayer modes for everyone to explore. If you are one of few fans who have been waiting on this game, then you’ll be happy to know that it’s finally hitting stores everywhere on June 10th.

Release Date: June 17th (North America and Europe)

EA Sports UFC is easily the most anticipated sports/ fighting game in the company’s library right now. After THQ went out of business and gave away the rights to pretty much all of their projects, EA decided to purchase the rights to create more UFC games in the future. With EA’s Ignite engine operating in full force, EA Sports UFC is poised to change the game in more ways than one. If you’re a diehard fan of the sport, then you owe it to yourself to pick this game up on day one.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is a third-person shooter based largely off of the previous Transformers games by High Moon Studios.As expected, this game also ties-in to the movie that will also be out this summer. If you typically enjoy what the Transformer games have to offer, then you’ll find yourself right at home with this one.

Release Date: June 25th (North America and Europe)

Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a puzzle adventure game created in the same UbiArt framework engine as Child of Light. The story is inspired by The Great War and follows the path of four strangers as they experience love, sacrifice, survival, and friendship with each other. If you enjoyed the look and feel of Child of Light, then you may want to check this out as well.

Developers: Codemasters
Publisher: Codemasters
Platforms: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC
Release Date: June 24th (North America) June 27th (Europe)

Grid Autosport is the sequel to both Race Driver: Grid and Grid 2. This game aims to fix all the issues with Grid 2 by adding in-car view driving and a total of 100 routes across 22 different locations. If you’re a racing game fan, then you might want to keep an eye out on this title.

Release Date: June 27th (Europe) July 1st (North America)

Sniper Elite III is a tactical shooter and the sequel to both Sniper Elite and Sniper Elite V2. The video embedded above gives fans a good idea of what to expect from the game when it hits stores late next month.
