Rocksteady has just released some new information about what the season pass for Batman: Arkham Knight will entail. Though some have been less than happy with the pass’ price point of $40, it seems that the developer behind the final installment in the Arkham trilogy plans to make it worth gamers’ money with the inclusion of a fan-favorite character and more.
A solo adventure starring Batgirl is the big highlight from this news. Batgirl: A Matter of Family is a prequel story which will let gamers play as the heroine for the first time. It will be set in an entirely different location from the main Arkham Knight game.
That isn’t the only story DLC included in the season pass. In The Season of Infamy, you’ll get to play as Batman in “in all new story missions featuring legendary super-villains invading Gotham City, with new story arcs, missions and gameplay features.” Gotham City Stories will let you play “as Batman’s key allies in narrative missions extending their storylines, from both before and after the events in Batman: Arkham Knight.”
Also included will be:
Legendary Batmobiles with Themed Tracks
Drive the most iconic Batmobiles from Batman’s 75-year history, on custom-built race tracks, each themed to that Batmobile’s specific era. Every Batmobile will be drivable across every race track.
Crimefighter Challenge Maps
Engage in a series of new challenge maps utilizing the unique play styles of Batman and his allies.
Character Skins
A variety of skins from across the eras for Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman.
After the release of the game, Rocksteay plans to roll out content for the following six months. “We’ll be building more narrative, more missions, more challenges and more characters and vehicles that we want players to experience, even though they didn’t fit into the storyline of Batman: Arkham Knight,” says the company.
Considering the hefty price of the DLC season pass, it’s good that Rocksteady plans to give players more than a single story DLC and a few skins. This news only covers some of what they expect to release so it’s safe to assume that the price will be even more justified as further news about the DLCs will be.
