Deadpool Returns to Steam

For the past year and some change, I’ve been extremely unhappy. This is because some time ago it was decided by someone at Marvel/Disney that a bunch of digital game releases should be pulled from Steam and other digital distribution platforms, Deadpool was one of them. I had my eyes on this game for the longest time, but had no way to buy it, unless I was willing to buy the physical edition for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. I decided to give up hope of ever playing Deadpool, and write it off from my backlog.

Today is a great day, because Deadpool has been made available once again on Steam. Thanks to all the Deadpool love from the Comic Con trailer leak, Marvel/Disney has given in decided that it would be a great idea to cash in on the hype.

I just purchased it on Steam myself for £29.99, it’s also available for $39.99 in the US. There’s no telling whether this is a one-off sale, so if you’re interested I suggest buying it now before it disappears once more.

Activision is the publisher behind the game, and it’s no telling what their influence was in getting the game back on Steam. The game wasn’t made available on PSN or Xbox Live unfortunately.

In 2013 Marvel licensed games were remove from all digital distribution channels, this was likely due to some legalities with Disney. If you manage to pick up Deadpool again, let us know your thoughts below.
