Rapper T.I. Talks About His Role in Ant-Man

In Ant-Man, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must help the former titular hero, Henry Pym (Michael Douglas) stop his long time rival, Darren Cross (Corey Stoll), from creating an army of miniature super soldiers by stealing the formula for ‘Pym Particles.’ He can’t do this alone however and has to rely on his heist crew to help him out.

One of the team members is Dave, a friend whom Scott met during his time in prison. Dave is being played by the famous rapper Tip “T.I.” Harris. In this clip from HipHopDX, the artist shares his thoughts on Dave.

“Dave is in the four man crew that Scott has… reluctantly put together,” says T.I. The reason for Scott’s hesitation to bring his crew–which also consists of Luis (Michael Peña) and Kurt (David Dastmalchian)–into this operation is because they are, like him, all former criminals. “We all have a common meeting place, where we all met in prison,” T.I. continues “but trying to get our lives straightened out and on the right path.”

Despite some of the friction which can arise during the heist set up, Scott and friends do have a genuine sense of brotherhood and respect between one another. As you can see from this clip, Luis and Dave think this is all entertaining, even if Henry Pym and his daughter Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lily) aren’t as amused.
