In a 5 minute sit down with Shigeru Miyamoto to close out Nintendo’s E3 stream, we learned some pretty interesting things about the upcoming Super Mario Maker. Firstly, the game will be coming out on September 11, and more importantly, it seems like Amiibos will have more of a factor than previously thought.
In the video above, you can see that certain a new version of Mario, “Costume Mario”, will be able to turn into basically any character that you may have an Amiibo for. As seen in the video, simply tapping the Wii Fit Trainer figure will let you use a “?” Mushroom to turn Mario into the woman. There will also be a new Amiibo on sale, a special 30th Anniversary, 8-bit Mario Amiibo, that can be used to turn Mario into a larger version of himself.
Super Mario Maker will be released on September 11 for Wii U.
