A couple weeks back during E3 2016, I was invited to try out Naughty America’s VR porn service at their booth. Initially, many were baffled as to why a porn company was occupying space at E3, but with the peaking interest in VR technology it all made sense, and strangely I had an urge to find out more about it.
I’m not going to act like a saint and say that I don’t watch porn. I also won’t announce just how much of it I watch, I’ll simply say that I watch it enough to know who my favorite pornstars are. With that being said, I was a little excited to consume adult content in a completely new way.
Before I got strapped up with Naughty America’s very own VR headset, I was talked through their virtual porn service. The service is part of their overall monthly plan, so it gives you access to all VR content as well as their regular porn library. They have a library set up specifically for those with a VR headset, and the service supports Oculus, Vive, Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard. If you want Naughty America’s very own headset it will run you as little as $20.
Naughty America’s Virtual Reality library is already huge, and more content is being added all the time with the top names in porn. Speaking of which, I also had to wait for pornstar April O’ Neil to finish using the headset before stepping in to try it myself. Witnessing a real Pornstar try out the technology right before me sent my anticipation levels through the roof.
I was finally ready to try it out. The nice PR guys encouraged me to sit down and helped me get the headset and headphones positioned comfortably. Thankfully, this wasn’t a full porn movie that I was about to watch, because the line to try the service out was just as long as some of the blockbuster game demos at E3. So in the interest of time they were only showing three minute demos.
The demo had at least three different porn scenes condensed into the three minutes. The first one started out with an actress talking dirty to me as she wiggled her way over my body, her boobs flashing in my face. I’m talking in first-person because it really felt as though I was there beneath her with a face full of her bosom. I could look up and down her body and take in every detail of her sexy exterior. Of course, E3 isn’t the place to get fully immersed, so I decided to test the technology out by looking away from the action. I looked around in the background at the room the movie was filmed in and could see plants and ornaments as though I was there.
Understandably, these porn videos weren’t rendered in full 360 virtual reality, because why would you need that? Unless of course the scene was based on some gigantic 20 person orgy filmed all around the room. But no, 180-degrees is enough to fulfill the filthiest of porn desires and I was impressed at just how much I was able to view by moving my head around in each direction. Ultimately, the most action will be taking place right in front of you, and it feels like that’s where your perspective has the most attention to detail.
The scene switched up and I was presented with a lady going to town on my manhood orally. As you look down you’re able to see more of your virtual counterpart’s body, and for someone of ethnicity (like me) you may be taken out of the immersion once you realize that you’re the wrong color. However, as this was just a demo I didn’t expect there to be variety. In the full Naughty America library you’ll be able to select the scenes that best represent you, your fantasies and your taste in lover. That includes content made for women, with male actors; and also gay and transgender scenes.
As I got to the final scene I was presented with multiple ladies, dedicating themselves to my virtual pleasure. I got to see one lady pop anal-beads from her nether region before my VR counterpart inserted his manhood from behind and went to town. Anal isn’t my thing, but I was still impressed with the view I had as my VR self took control of the action.
Ultimately, VR porn is something I would consider watching more out of fascination than actual pleasure. Something about being locked into a headset with headphones on-top of that makes me not want to get 100% immersed unless I know I will be alone for quite some time, and I believe many may feel this way. However, VR porn is something every man either needs to try or wants to try. This was the moment that I realized that VR really is the next step in media consumption; whether for porn, gaming or film. Virtual reality is an evolution.
