Cowabunga – An Interview with Brandon Mychal Smith’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

If you’ve lived long enough, you have seen somebody’s version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. However, when Nickelodeon’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first debuted it was jarring. A massive departure from the animation style and stories we know.

Fortunately, this moment would come to pass as the series is incredibly charming that features in-depth adventures of the turtles’ lives which stayed true to the comics as the turtles set out to unlock the mystical secrets of New York City.

Renewed for a second season consisting of 26 episodes, The Koalition interviewed Rise’s voice actor Brandon Mychal Smith about his journey to become Mickey, how this series pays homage to the past and more.
