Arcade1Up Will Have An Impressive Lineup At CES 2020

A few months back there were some “leaked” images of a beautifully themed Arcade1Up Burger Time cabinet which was said to be shown off at the Tokyo Games Show. This cabinet was originally shown off in early 2019 as a Karate Champ themed cabinet with Burger Time being one of the other four games on this cabinet along with Bad Dudes and Caveman Ninja.

Well, that event has come and gone with no mention of such a cabinet. However, today Arcade1Up not only confirmed this cabinet, but they also announced a ship date of March 1st. The game line up remains the same besides the obvious headlining title change. This cabinet is exclusive to Arcade1Up.com and will not be sold by retailers. Here are the features:

Arcade1Up

  • 4 games in 1: Burger Time, Karate Champ, Bad Dudes, Caveman Ninja
  • Original artwork
  • Light-up marquee
  • Full-color 17” display
  • Coinless operation

This cabinet is a limited edition. Pre-orders are currently available for the USA and Canada only so if you’re interested act fast because once CES kicks off there will be a lot more eyes on this cabinet.

Arcade1Up

Speaking of CES, my super awesome Arcade1Up rep sent me an email today confirming some known and unknown products that will be shown or discussed at this year’s CES.

For starters, he confirmed that Arcade1Up has partnered with Zen Studios to bring us Arcade1Up Pinball. No official word on how many tables will be available but at least we know this product is real and coming soon.

Arcade1Up collectibles?

There will be various new ways to enjoy the arcade experience at home. Handheld devices, plug and play controllers, at-home Jumbo Joysticks, and more. Partners include but are not limited to Disney, Namco, ColecoVision, Intellivision, Commodore 64, Atari, and more.”

Handheld devices? The first image that popped in my head when I read this was Tiger Electronic handhelds. Growing up, I had a couple of these in my backpack. I can absolutely see this form of handheld return with colorful art designs and a modern LCD screen.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when I hear the term “Jumbo Joysticks” I think of “Capcom Home Arcade”. A 2 player controller deck setup preloaded with games. However, I could be completely wrong and it could just be a decorative jumbo size joystick. The plug & play controllers could also be interesting depending on the game and controller type. Maybe a preloaded spinner controller with Arkanoid and Tempest.

Two Arcade cabinets were also confirmed, Frogger and Golden Axe.

Frogger will include Time Pilot

Golden Axe will include:

  • Shinobi
  • Altered Beast
  • Wrestle War
  • Death Adder

The Golden Axe cabinet definitely has an interesting assortment of classic Sega titles, especially with the inclusion of Wrestle War

There is no doubt in my mind that Arcade1Up will have a few more surprises at CES along with answers such as how many games will be in the pinball cabinet (s), are some of the other “leaked” images real in regards to a 4 player NBA JAM and SNK King of Fighters? Regardless, its clear Arcade1Up is gearing up to have a product filled year.
